No win no fee solicitors set to represent big dipper crash victims
It seems that no win no fee solicitors look set to capitalise on the well published big dipper crash on Blackpool's pleasure beach.
Theme park bosses are bracing themselves for a wave of claims from the 31 victims involved in the accident.
The crash which left 31 thrill seekers injured has made the headlines across the UK, but just days after the crash more information is coming to light about the safety and integrity of the rollercoaster.
It has emerged that the ride was shut down earlier that day due to problems which bosses say where unrelated to the crash. Alongside that six people had to be rescued from the ride last week as it ground to a halt at its height.
A Council worker and five pals who were involved in the incident said they had paid £30 each to get into the Pleasure Beach and the ride they were on suddenly came to a halt.
"We were stuck there for about 20 minutes when a man climbed up to us. He had to release the safety bars manually and then get us out to walk down the track to safety. It was scary, and now a week later this has happened."
Another theme park visitor said "It was about 4.30pm and we were looking for a ride without a long queue. We saw a lot of people coming away from the Big Dipper so we thought we'd try there. We tried to get on but a man told us it was closed because of 'problems'. He didn't say what the problems were or when it would reopen."
The crash happened just over three hours later.
Some of the injuries being described in reports range from whiplash to broken bones and back injuries, none of which are too serious but all of which are often compensated for in other circumstances. It remains to be seen if the park will accept liability for the crash, but most likely many will have to wait for the report by the Health and Safety Executive before any compensation claims can move forward.
The coming months will more than likely be quite expensive for the bosses at pleasure beach Blackpool. Whilst the victims of this crash recover and get back to normality one of the UK biggest group compensation claims continues to rumble on with thousands more still expected to come forward in falling victim of toxic sofas causing horrendous rashes.
